What do HR professionals look for in a CV?

1 minute read

HR professionals often scan dozens of CVs a day – so they have to decide quickly who moves forward. They focus on a few key elements, and if those are missing or poorly structured, your CV may not make it to the next round.

Here's a quick checklist to make sure your CV has what it takes:

✅ Name and contact info ➡️ Email, phone number, city – clearly visible.

✅ Short introduction ➡️ 3–4 sentences about who you are, what you can do, and what you’re looking for.

✅ Work experience ➡️ In reverse chronological order, with company, job title, period, and 2–3 bullet points per job.

✅ Education ➡️ List from highest degree backward, including years.

✅ Skills and competencies ➡️ Key skills (e.g. language, software) in a separate section.

✅ Clear, clean design ➡️ Simple layout, readable fonts.

✅ Relevance ➡️ Tailor your content to the specific job – highlight what matters.

📝 A well-crafted CV doesn't just inform – it makes an impression. Get noticed and land that interview!
